Modern cloud-based applications have built-in protection capabilities that safeguard data from physical infrastructure failures, including redundant storage, replication, and high availability. These mechanisms help ensure that data stored in the cloud survives in case the hardware is destroyed, corrupted, or otherwise fails. Despite this built-in resiliency, the data can still be affected by disasters, human errors, or malicious attacks.
Afi provides a long-term resilient and scalable data protection service that is built from the ground up to support cloud data sources. Our modern architecture and strong R&D focus enable us to deliver 2-3x faster performance compared to legacy vendors, as well as dozens of unique features such as multi-geo backup storage for a single tenant, instant full-text search across all backup data, seamless Azure AD integration, instant offline data export, and more.

Our investments in product development significantly exceed those of our peers, as we focus on security and advanced features, positioning Afi ahead of legacy backup vendors. For example, Afi is one of the few providers that support all major BYOK encryption management systems, uses secure full-text search technology and supports advanced event logging and SIEM integrations.
We are also focused on building a secure organization, and we undergo extensive audits and assessments, working with top security firms including Mandiant (part of Google), Qualys, DeepSeas, Cobalt, and others. Security and Compliance
Afi partners with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) that hosts all Afi application components and all customer data. GCP is compliant with the strictest security standards and regulations, including SOC and ISO 27001.
Afi complies with SOC 2 Type II and is independently audited on an annual basis. The audit report, as well as other independent security reviews are available upon request.
We follow the Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) process and are a member of industry organizations, including the Cloud Security Alliance and International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Learn more about Afi security and assurance on our compliance webpage.

We achieve a positive impact on the global community by helping fight cybersecurity threats and data loss, developing a secure, resilient and affordable data protection platform. We also contribute to three main causes:
- Cyber Security. We support nonprofits advancing cyber awareness among small businesses and individuals and improving security and trust in digital systems.
- Global Freedoms. Afi makes donations to international humanitarian aid, research and advocacy organizations promoting human rights and freedoms.
- Helping Local Community. We help charities supporting the community of Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
Our Locations
Afi is headquartered in Coral Springs, Florida, with a remote team based in the European Union (Romania, Cyprus, and Poland). We maintan a strict geographical footprint policy, ensuring that all our employees and vendors are located in the US, the European Union, and countries ranked as 'Free' by the Freedom House, a major research institute. We use technical and procedural measures to effectively enforce these restrictions.
We host our platform in Google Cloud Platform datacenters located in Council Bluffs (Iowa, USA), Montreal (Canada), Eemshaven (the Netherlands), London (the United Kingdom), and Sydney (Australia). In 2025-2026 we expect to add new datacenter locations in Asia and Latin America. All Afi platform components and data are hosted in the cloud infrastructure, with no on-premises databases, servers, or any other physical infrastructure operated by us.
