Cloud services protect your data against physical infrastructure failures. SaaS and IaaS cloud providers use redundant storage to ensure that data survives even if the hardware is destroyed or malfunctions. Despite this built-in resiliency, data stored in cloud services can still be affected by human error or malicious intent.
Afi provides a reliable and scalable data protection service that is built from the ground up to support cloud data sources. The modern Afi architecture enables us to deliver 2-3x faster performance and 10s unique features, including multi-geo backup storage for a single tenant, full-text search across all backup data, smooth Azure AD integration, instant offline data export and more.
We're excited to see that thousands of organizations, from SMBs to enterprises with 50,000+ employees, choose Afi as their backup provider. Afi continues to advance its technology, focusing on backup, replication and orchestration of K8s, IaaS and next-gen workloads.
Our customers perform more than 2,000 restore operations per month. Less than 0.2% of the recovery tasks are executed with an intentional transitionary pause initiated by Afi to avoid API throttling and optimize time to recovery.
All the paused restore operations eventually succeed. Thanks to our resilient architecture, we have not lost any customer data due to data corruption, system malfunction or failed recovery.
To achieve the impeccable reliability, we leverage AI to detect problems with production data (e.g. orphaned drives, corrupted files), and provide transparent reporting with clear backup statuses and no "silenced" errors or warnings.

Many backup vendors raise VC investments or get acquired (at least 20 vendors in 2019-2021). Such transactions often distract their strategic focus and the quality of their services may suffer.
We are determined to stay independent for a long time and focus on product development. Afi raised a small seed investment early in its history, but the company is now growing profitably and is self-sustainable. We often receive unsolicited VC and acquisition offers, and we intend to ignore them.
Afi partners with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) that host all Afi application components and all customer data. GCP is compliant with the strictest security standards and regulations, including SOC and ISO 27001.
Afi is compliant with SOC 2 Type II and other major security standards and regulations. We follow the Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) process and are a member of industry organizations, including the Cloud Security Alliance.
Afi is headquartered in the US (offices in Coral Springs and Atlanta) and has a remote team in Europe (Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia and Cyprus).
Our platform is hosted in Google Cloud Platform datacenters located in Council Bluffs (Iowa, USA), Montreal (Canada), Eemshaven (the Netherlands), London (the United Kingdom) and Sydney (Australia). In 2022-2023 we expect to add new data centers in Asia, Latin America and Africa.
All Afi application components are hosted in the cloud infrastructure, with no on-premises servers or local data centers operated by Afi.
