Where Afi Kubernetes Backups are stored?
You can connect you own cloud, off-premise or local backup storage, or use Afi's cloud backup storage service.
When you backup to Afi storage you can select a single storage region for all your data, or implement a set of backup data residency policies to backup to multiiple geographic locations. Available Afi storage locations include the United States (Iowa), the European Union (the Netherlands), UK, Canada and Australia.
How is Afi different from Velero and Velero-based backup options?
Afi provides a complete and easy-to-use K8s backup service, with no need to manage and maintain data protection infrastructure. You can install Afi in just a few clicks, and all your team members can use it via a web UI, with no need of advanced DevOps knowledge.
Unlike Velero's underlying technology that uses snapshots to calculate increments, Afi K8s backup implements true incremental backup. This enales Afi to achieve significantly faster backup performance (up to 2-3x), especially in large complex environments.
How much does Afi K8s backup cost?
Our standard price is $140 per node per month and $60 per one terabyte of backup storage. You will only need to license the nodes you protect, and you don't need to pay for backup storage if you use your own storage.
We provide custom pricing for large deployments. Please contact us to get a quote, arrange a POC, or get access to the Afi-hosted test lab environment.
Do you offer a free tier?
We provide free licenses for small environments. Feel free to get in touch to request free licenses if you need to protect less than 10 nodes.
Do I need a Microsoft or Google account to start a trial?
By default, Afi uses cloud SSO services for identity and access management. When using your Microsoft or Google account to sign up, you aren't granting the Afi application any access to your Microsoft Azure or Google infrastructure.
You may use a test SSO account or an empty account that's not linked to a K8s environment; you will only need the SSO account to authenticate and access the Afi cloud dashboard. After you sign up, you'll be able to install an Afi backup agent and grant it access to the K8s infrastructure you need to protect.
Get in touch if you'd like to sign up for a trial without a Microsoft or Google SSO, or if you need to use an alternative SSO provider.
