Afi Backup for Microsoft 365

Afi SaaS backup provides comprehensive coverage for Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including full-fidelity support for Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, Groups & Teams, Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Power Platform, and Planner workloads.

Afi adopts multi-tenant organizational and access model tailored to enterprise use-cases, complete with comprehensive audit for user and system activities as well as extensive monitoring capabilities. To offer granular access configuration as well as backup and data management features, Afi leverages native Microsoft 365 groups, providing convenient group-based mass-management for service operators and protected resource groups.

Afi provides fine-grained recovery capabilities for key Microsoft 365 workloads, allowing to fully restore metadata (including SharePoint list scheme, Entra ID object relationships, etc.) and permissions together with data. Workloads backed up by Afi can also be exported in industry-standard formats, including PST format for all supported Exchange workloads.

To allow users to easily navigate across large backup datasets and select data for recovery and export in a fine-grained fashion, Afi offers the unique feature set for data browse and search, including:

  • Online data and metadata preview;
  • Full-text search across backup contents with extensive capabilities for results filtering, backed by secure encrypted index;
  • Global search across all or a selected set of resources in a tenant.
  • Annotation labels highlighting new items and modified item versions;
  • Ability to view all backed up versions for files and other objects;
  • Data changes view for a selected backup snapshot range;
  • Data export from search results or snapshot changes view, ideally suitable for compliance use-cases.

Together with backup access and recovery capabilities for account administrators and operators, Afi also provides self-service access for end-users to let them recover their own Exchange, OneDrive, and SharePoint data themselves. Self-service access is disabled by default and can be enabled by Afi account administrators upon their discretion.

As a SaaS backup solution, Afi takes a proactive approach to service reliability and resiliency by implementing continuous monitoring of service health and activities (e.g., backups, restores). Any issues detected by Afi’s monitoring system are proactively investigated and resolved, in most cases even before they are noticed or reported by account administrators. Afi is resilient to Microsoft 365 API errors and temporary throttling spikes, relieving account administrators of the need to constantly monitor the service or investigate transient backup issues. Additionally, Afi offers 24/7 technical support to address all requests, from technical configuration and product questions to service issue reports.
