Troubleshooting¶
This article contains a few troubleshooting tips for most common issues related to Kubernetes backup and recovery. If this article doesn't help to resolve an issue or you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact Afi Support at support@afi.ai.
Troubleshooting installation¶
To successfully install Afi backup agent in a Kubernetes cluster please make sure that outgoing connections from your cluster to app.afi.ai:443
are allowed, otherwise, the backup agent will not be able to register and communicate with Afi platform.
Troubleshooting backup or recovery¶
You can view a backup or recovery status together with error details in case of failure on the Activity → Tasks tab in the Afi portal (click on a task to view its details). To filter failed tasks and review them, use Failed filter in the Status column.
Logs to check¶
You can view and collect Afi backup agent logs using the standard kubectl logs
tool. When submitting an issue to Afi support, we suggest to collect logs of the following pods that belong to Afi backup agent deployment for investigation (please note that you should select a namespace where Afi backup agent is installed to access the logs):
- apigw (communication between the Afi platform and backup agent)
- backupagent (backup and recovery orchestration)
- pvsnapshotter (persistent volume backup and recovery)
